Alzheimer’s and coconut oil

I have to say that coconut oil is a passion for me.  It is great for your skin, great for your hair.  You can cook with it in high temperatures, you can use it as a base for homemade toothpaste.  It has so many things that I have been doing with it, that I can write about, right off the top of my head.  But I was shocked about its medicinal value. Iam doing a write up on this because it is one of the components of the turmeric tea my mother drinks that has Alzheimer’s disease.

Before we get into that I would like to report on the other things that coconut oil is good for and what is good about it.  I was surprised to find that it has 20 benefits.  The one thing that is good about it, it has healthy saturated fat. It is made up of three healthy fatty acids.  Caprylic acid, Lauric acid, and Capric acid.

In the research that I found, these are proven benefits of coconut oil.

One is it is an Alzheimer’s Disease, Natural Treatment.

The reason it is good for the brain is because coconut in the liver creates ketones that is accessible energy to the brain.  It is found that a person with Alzheimer’s disease, brain loses the ability to make it’s own insulin to turn into glucose.  So the ketones from coconut oil creates a alternative source of energy to the brain which helps to repair brain function.

Also in addition, coconut oil is a carrier for turmeric.  Without it turmeric is difficult to digest.  A must in your turmeric tea.

Good for the Heart and Kidney?

Next it helps to prevent heart disease and high blood pressure. Those healthy saturated fats I mentioned earlier increase the healthy cholesterol and helps converts the bad cholesterol into good cholesterols.

It helps with Kidney Infection and protects the liver at the same time.  It clears up the urinary and heals urinary and kidney infections.  And drinking coconut water help hydrate and support the kidney.  Some doctors use the coconut water to clear up kidney stones.

What about inflammation?

I know a lot of people suffer from inflammation and Arthritis, it reduces that.  It is not only a analgesic but it is also anti-inflammatory.  Which is very important because most diseases are due to inflammation.  That is why anything that says anti-inflammatory I am interested in it.

Now here is a big one it helps with.  Cancer prevention and it can be used as part of the treatment for cancer.  Well the ketones that are helpful to the brain produces a poor environment for Tumor cells.

This is a reason for regularly taking coconut oil, and I will say organic coconut oil, it Boost the Immune System.  It is antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral.  It creates a hostile environment for viruses.

When you are sick take 1 Tablespoon three times a day and consume plenty of vegetable and bone broth as well.  As a side note when you are sick stay away from sugar it feeds the growth of bad bacteria.  And if you are taking care of a Alzheimer’s patient keep them away from sugar it is very bad for the brain.

Coconut oil improves memory and brain function and in older


persons, it does that.  We know it help younger brains, but we are not just talking about Alzheimer’s and Dementia but there are those older ones who are Senile.

It improves energy and endurance levels.  It improves digestion and reduces stomach ulcers & ulcerative colitis. Now does it help the stomach?  Coconut oil improves digestion so that the body can absorb fat-soluble vitamins, magnesium and calcium.   Now here is something important to know, if you take your omega 3 fatty acids the same time you take your coconut oil is makes them twice as effective

What else is coconut oil good for?

It reduces symptoms of gallbladder disease and Pancreatitis.  It improves most skin issues.  It is helpful in reducing gum disease and tooth decay.  In order to use it for the gums you would do something call oil pulling using coconut oil.  You swish the oil around in your mouth, in so doing the oil removes oral bacteria.  I have used the oil when it is a little cool so that it is thick, add some peppermint essential oil and turmeric and it makes a great toothpaste that is also a whiter for the teeth. For it to work hold it in your mouth for 4 to 5 minutes.Alzheimer remedies

It prevents osteoporosis.  One of the things I saw that I took notice of is it increases calcium absorption in the gut.  It also increases bone volume.  This is important because as we get older we suffer from bone loss so this is a great preventative for that. Might prevent a broken hip.

It improves type 11 diabetes.  People with type 11 diabetes cells refuse to respond to insulin so they become insulin resistant which causes the pancreas to work harder.  Coconut oil helps to balance the insulin reaction in the cells, which takes the work off the pancreas and relieves insulin resistance or type 11 diabetes.

It helps with weight loss.  Helps in building muscle and lost of body fat.

Great for the hair, I use it and love it.  You don’t have to worry about all the bad things they put in hair care products.

It is helpful when treating candida and yeast infections.  If you are treating these illnesses take one tablespoon three times a day and stay away from refined grains and processed sugar.  The capric and lauric acids are what is helpful in treating those two conditions.

Here we go girls!  It is even helpful for anti-aging.  I thought it would only say to rub it on your face which I have done. But like I am learning we have to treat the inside too for beautiful skin.  It is recommended to take one tablespoon with berries for breakfast.  I will say your favorite berries, since it didn’t say any berry in particle.  When you take it this way it reduces the stress on the liver which lowers oxidative stress.

And last but not least it helps with hormone balance.  I wanted to know what hormones. Found it is good for those women who are going through menopause and it has a good effect on estrogen levels.  The recommendation is also to reduce refine sugar and grains and load up on good fats like coconuts, avocado, flax seeds and ghee.

Looks like the tea we are making for my mother is powerful stuff. I drink the tea sometimes but after this research posts, I will be drinking it more myself.  Actually no matter why you are taking it it helps a lot of things in your body.  Follow me as I check out other spices and products.

    I was very interested in reading this article because my wife and I have been using coconut oil for over 10 years. We use it because of all of the reasons you discuss and for all of the ways that you can use coconut oil.

    We always buy organic and we always have a big jar in the kitchen pantry. We always have a small jar in the bathroom because we use the oil as a moisturizer and also in our hair to keep it shiny and soft.

    I have used coconut water as a drink to prevent dehydration. When I used other drinks I suffered from leg cramps, but not when I drank coconut water.

    When you use coconut oil for cooking, you usually don’t notice that it is there. Sometimes it actually improves the flavour of things such as cookies or carrot cake.

    My wife works in a natural food store, so she knows all of the benefits that coconut oil provides.

    • I am glad you read my article. I love coconut oil and have appreciated how beneficial it is for us. I did the research on it because we put it in my mother’s Turmeric tea and now know adding coconut oil makes it a dynamite tea. Again thanks for the comments
